How the Game is Played

- Objective: To beat the dealer's 5-car hand with your 5-card hand
- Each player antes and is dealt 5 cards face-down, as is the dealer
- Dealer flips one of her cards face-up
- Players decide whether to raise or fold
- If player raises, he bets twice his ante
- If player folds, he loses his ante bet
- If player wins and dealer has below Ace-King high, player's bet is returned and is only paid 1 to 1 on ante
- If player wins and dealer has at least Ace-King high, player gets 1 to 1 on ante and gets paid on the bet according to the pay table shown below

- Sit down at an open seat at the table
- Wait until the hand is over, and make an ante to receive cards
- Make the ante bet by placing your chips over the section on the table that says "Ante"
- Raise by placing your chips over the section on the table that says "Bet"
Optimal Strategy
- Many casinos offer a progressive jackpot bet
- Do not bet on the jackpot unless you are hoping to win big, as this increases the casino advantage
- Always raise if you have something better than a pair
- Usually raise if you have a pair (ask players at table for help then)
- Always fold if you have something less than a pair
