Motivation
I love the strategy of gaming. Casino games, especially, are carefully engineered to make a profit by using the law of large numbers. Although they only have a 51-55% advantage in most games (even more when people play incorrectly), they generate tremendous profit due to the massive quantity of gamblers. I gambled in casinos before, and I experienced firsthand how it feels to not know how the basic “ins and outs” of casino gaming. I knew the theoretical aspects of the games, such as exactly which bets to make and about how much money I was expected to lose. I did not know, however, how to actually place these bets, since the fast casino pace of chips flying everywhere was a shock to my system. On the other hand, I have witnessed people who know exactly how to make the bets, but don’t know exactly what they are doing, and end up playing incorrectly. I have seen people check their hand when they have as we poker players call “The Nuts,” or the best hand possible, which costs them money. So I would like to make this website so that first-time casino players don’t have to deal with either of these problems. In addition, experienced casino gamblers but poor betters can use this website to learn how to increase their odds of winning.
Target Audience
My main target audience is first-time casino goers. Most people who go to casinos for the first time haven’t the slightest idea what to do. Everything moves so quickly, chips are flying all over the place, and most of the time they make rash and costly bets under the pressure. This site will help aid those who have never step foot into a casino. On another note, this site can help any regular gambler who may not know how to play the games properly, or who wants to add new games to his repertoire. A fairly experienced gambler probably knows how to play roulette, but may not have the slightest clue how to play the less known game of Hold’em Bonus.
Website Structure
Homepage
The website will have a very simple, user-friendly layout. It will consist first and foremost of a homepage that welcomes the target audience and lets them know they are in the right place. The homepage will say something along the lines of “Welcome First-Time Casino Goers! Learn the Basics of Casino Gambling,” along with a captivating graphic of a casino or casino games. The homepage will also have a list of hyperlinks to every single casino game. Each one of these hyperlinks will link to an explanation of the game consisting of three sections: casino etiquette, optimal strategy, and a bankroll-managing program.
Section 1 – Casino Etiquette
The “Casino Etiquette” section explains how to conduct yourself physically in the casino while playing the game. Playing Roulette, for example, consists of a lot more than knowing what you want to bet and watching the ball spin around a wheel. There are rules about when you can place your bets and what you are allowed to do. I want to bet on black, what do I do? Can I touch my friend’s chips that are on the betting table? Do I have to make my bet before the dealer spins the ball or can I do it while the ball is spinning? As another example, take Craps. Can I kiss the dice before I throw them? How far across the table do I have to throw them? Am I allowed to hold them beyond the table boundaries? Most people don’t think of these things before their first time in a casino, but they are essentials to any gambler. Being scolded by dealers and other gamblers isn’t fun, and in fact stresses out the player. Stress leads to faster, rasher decisions, which lead to worse bets, which leads to a worse gambling experience. Knowing basic casino etiquette can save time, embarrassment, and most importantly money.
Section 2 – Optimal Strategy
The etiquette section, although very helpful, is a secondary focus of the website. Realistically, you can get used to the casino etiquette for each game after playing for ten minutes. Optimal betting strategy and bankroll management, however, are not learned at the casino. After the briefing about casino etiquette, the website will explain the optimal playing strategy for that game. This section will change from game to game, since some games require much more strategy than others. Roulette, for example, requires little to no strategy. Basically, don’t bet on both black and red at the same time. Hold’em Bonus, on the other hand, is full of strategy. Since this is a website for inexperienced gamblers, I won’t go too in depth on specific hands, since there are billions of possible decisions. In reality only a computer could play Hold’em Bonus perfectly. However, I will explain basic decisions. For example, only fold 2 3, 2 4, 2 5, 2 6, 2 7 offsuit preflop. That covers 1/3 of the decisions the player has to make for the entire hand right there! Then of course after the flop if you have a pair or better always bet, if you have a flush draw then bet if you have two overcards, etc. I will have a video tutorial posted along with a photo of the exact casino table layout.
Section 3 – Bankroll-Managing Program
The third and final section is the program. This will arguably be the most attractive feature of the site, because it will allow the people to enter their own gambling preferences (game type, stakes, playing frequency) and it outputs how much they are likely to lose. Willing to lose $2,000? Love playing Roulette and betting big? No problem, just be willing to make fewer bets. If not, accept playing at lower stakes. For example, the person could enter Game: Roulette, Stakes: $50/bet, Playing Frequency: 50 bets, and the program would report back on average how much he would lose. I can also add features such as the maximum amount he could win and lose.
What do I want Visitors to get out this Site?
I want visitors to come to this site strictly to gain knowledge and have an improved gambling experience, learning how to gamble within their limits, rationally, and responsibly. Someone who never knew a thing about gambling can come to this website, learn how to play any game they want, and see how much money they are likely to lose according to their personal betting preferences. You’d be surprised how fast $1,000 goes by, especially when you’re not informed. Now people can have a better idea about how long their money can last.
